What is a giant set?

Just so we r all on the same page...
I always thought:
supersets = 2 different muscle groups (back + bi) paired up & hit 2gether. eg. lat pull down, hammers, lat pull down, hammers etc.
Compound sets = same muscle group hit with 2 different exercises eg. 4 back it could b lat pull down, seated row, lat pull down seated row etc.

I love compound sets cuz ur sure 2 get a pump! Yeh boi! love that feeling.
I rarely use supersets as i feel I've lost momentum on the target area by changing back and forth (prob psychological lol). BUT i do throw them in (prob once a month) 2 freak out my body & move that blood around.

Can u hog a fair bit of equipment at the 1 tme? I've been doing massive compound sets by setting up a huge circuit & just smashing out 4 or 5 different exercises 4 the 1 body part with just a quick rest between circuit laps. no rests between sets. Its quick...but brutal. lol

I love super sets!! Best time saver and less rest but I do mine working dif body parts so like tri then bicep or chest then back or do e.g bicep curl and a set of mountain climbers or box jumps or something to keep my heart rate up def a killer ;)

You should never do any more then 5min on the treadmill before weights. Your cardio should be done after your weight train you will burn more fat this way any GOOD trainer will tell you this

I have always done my cardio first never been told otherwise. What's the reasoning behind it being better to do weights first?

Why weights should be done BEFORE cardio:

1. When you do cardio it uses up A LOT of your body's energy source - when you use all that energy, there won't be any available once you weight train. You'll end up being too fatigue to train (which may also cause injury if you keep trying to push yourself)

2. Cardio makes your blood more acidic - without getting too technical - when your blood is more acidic it causes muscular fatigue therefore harder for you to contract muscles when training.

There's a lot more reason out there on why it's suggested to do weights before cardio. It is a bit too technical and scientific and will put a lot to sleep. You can search for it online instead if you want :)

I had a bit of a look into it now I do my cardio before work and then my weights after work after I've slowed down a bit :)
